What you can expect at the Shincliffe Parish Council

Shincliffe Parish is one among the small collection of beautiful villages which are located just a few miles outside Durham City. This parish is steeped in a long and well-known mining heritage and is surrounded by forestry and agriculture. These are just a few of the reasons why this is such a beautiful place for people to live, explore, visit or just go for a walkthrough.

The meetings at this Parish Council are all held in either the St. Mary’s Church Hall or in the Shincliffe School. If you want to check out the meetings calendar for the Parish, you can find it right here. The agenda when it comes to these meetings are all posted on noticeboards or it can be found on their website. All parishoners are more than welcome to come for any of these meetings.

They also have a well-maintained website which can be used to get more information on all of the upcoming events. You can even get in touch with them if you have any concerns or queries.

Shincliffe is committed to try and work in a transparent and professional manner while also supporting the community on a number of important initiatives and working on continuously improving their community. There is something called a Local Council Award Scheme which helps society by providing the framework for excellence and also supports their commitment to the community. After a lot of hard work, they have managed to get the Foundation Award as well.

Now, they are looking at trying to get a Quality Gold award and in 2018. They believe they will be able to get this. This is the best thing that can happen to the community. We urge people to take part in the community activities and help in making this society a better place to live in.
